About the AAF

Jumpstart your career in advertising with the American Advertising Federation and the student chapter at Texas State University. The AAF has more than 200 chapters across the U.S. and 5,000+ student members. For student members, the AAF provides valuable insights into the worlds of advertising, connections and even job opportunities that will help propel your advertising career. For educators at a college or university, college chapter membership is the perfect way to make an impact on students at your school who are looking to dive into the advertising industry.

Established in 1905, the American Advertising Federation (AAF) is the only organization that includes members across all disciplines and career levels in advertising. Whether you're new to the fast-paced world of advertising or a seasoned professional, the AAF is for you. We're here to help you advance your career, build your connections and celebrate this ever-changing, amazing industry we work in.

The AAF is continually working to improve and better the industry we love. That’s why we provide our members with the tools and resources they need to empower themselves. And that’s why we work tirelessly with advertisers by advocating in Washington, DC, setting ethical standards, providing professional development opportunities, promoting diversity and inclusion and so much more.

Meet the officers

 
 

President

Luca Palomo (he/him)

Luca is a senior pursuing an Advertising degree and a minor in both English and Writing. He has been a member of AAF since 2022 and has loved getting to know people in the same field, whether through AAF or NSAC. He enjoys both the account planning and creative sides of advertising and will pursue either or both post-grad. Luca loves to strike up a conversation wherever he goes and will befriend anybody he runs into. In his downtime, he enjoys staying active immersing himself in music, and watching a new movie. To befriend him, ask him about his Lego collection, a film he has seen, or give a music recommendation!

Beth Bruch(she/her)

Beth is a Digital Media Innovation major with a minor in Media Studies. She's been an AAF member since spring of 2022. She's worked on the student content team for SXSW and enjoys running a fun TXST themed Instagram account! Post-graduation, Beth plans on moving to Washington and going into social media analytics for companies working towards positive social media experiences for creators and users. In her free time, Beth loves to geek out about her favorite movies or the latest show she's bingeing. She loves to travel and will absolutely give you food recommendations for her favorite cities.



 

Industry relations chair

Franchesca Jennings (she/her)

Franchesca, senior year Public Relations major hailing from the vibrant city of Dallas, Texas. Building bridges is second nature to her. Franchesca’s passion for networking and creating lasting relationships sets the stage for impactful collaborations that’ll benefit our advertising community. Beyond the textbooks, you’ll find her assist wedding planning on the weekends or working the ESPN+ broadcast for TXST.


 

Communications Director

Ari Barroso(she/her)

Ari is a junior Advertising major with a minor in Pop Culture. She has been a member of AAF since the spring of 2023. Ari has enjoyed hearing from former alumni and their experiences with AAF and their careers in Advertising and plans on doing the same thing after she leaves Texas State. After graduation, she plans on becoming an Account Planner and work for an adverting agency somewhere outside of Texas! When Ari isn’t in class, you can find her working at the KTSW radio station or hanging out by the river listening to music. Ari also loves to travel and attend musical festivals!


 

Social media Manager

Grace LeMay(she/her)

Grace is a senior Advertising major with a minor in Business Administration. She’s been a member of AAF since the spring of 2022 and recently competed on the TXST 2023 NSAC team. She is looking forward to AAF events this semester and connecting with fellow ad lovers in the industry. In her free time, you can find Grace watching her favorite Netflix reality shows, shopping at the outlets or floating the river with her friends. Grace loves scoping out the best spots to eat in San Mo or cooking up a mean bowl of fried rice at home. Let her know if you need any food recs in the area!
